No, the capital of the North Dakota was not really named after a pastry. The city was actually named after Otto von Bismarck, a German dude that did something worthy of a Wikipedia entry (there is a limit to the amount of research I am willing to do).
As a side note, since when does “Bismarck” have a “c” in it?
